South Coast Casuals closed in March 2023
For more than 28 years, South Coast Casuals had been a fashion destination for people in South Delta and beyond. It had been more than a store, it was a community – but it’s time for us to step back, spend more time with family and friends, and move on to new adventures.
About Us
Feel good. Look great.
At South Coast Casuals, we were known for our attentive, one-on-one service. If you told us what you’re looking for, we searched the store to find it. We were be honest with you if you ask our opinion, and if you’re open to it, we suggested things you might not have tried before, including the perfect accessory for your look.
We helped you choose pieces that you felt good in; we were not here to force styles on you, we were here to help you look your best. We know that when you feel good, you look great!
And if you wanted to be left alone to browse, we stayed quietly in the background until you needed us. We wanted you to have the shopping experience that’s right for you.
Real clothes for real women
At South Coast Casuals, we made our buying decisions based on the real women who are our customers. We tought about you all the time: how you live, what will flatter you, and what will make you feel fabulous. You could see it in our store: lots of sizes, styles and colours; fashion that not only follows the trends, but reflects your preferences. We believe that if pink is your favourite colour, you should have options in pink every season – whether it’s trending or not.
Our Story
Exceptional service is more than a value, it’s our passion
South Coast Casuals is a family business run by Jill, Tracey and Bill McKnight. Although we opened our Ladner store in 1995, our family has lived in South Delta since 1974. We’ve been in the fashion and customer service business for most of our lives. Tracey began in retail sales at Woodwards, Bill was a ladies lingerie and clothing salesman, and Jill has been with the store since it opened. You might say that fashion is in our blood. We’re passionate about offering exceptional service – in our store, and in the South Delta community where we live, work and play. We’ve been active members of the Ladner Business Association since our store opened, helping to develop and run community events, and managing the hugely popular Ladner Village Market. Some of our other causes have included fundraising for Breast Cancer research with fashion shows and events, collecting and sorting clothing for Dress for Success, and fundraising for the Delta Hospital Foundation. Throughout the year, we support more than 150 community events and fundraisers with donations and help.
